Since my last blog post I have finished firing my piece and glazing it. After removing my piece from the kiln, I picked out my glaze colors, and began to paint my piece. After glazing my piece, I refired it, and then allowed it to cool. Once I completed all of that my piece was finished. I found my sculpture piece to be successful in the sense that it was structurally sound, it's design was unique, and I was able to properly execute the project. I had a certain vision for this project and I am very pleased with the final piece. If I were to do this piece again I would consider putting a design on the tray that the salt and pepper shakers rest in.

1. My piece shows the theme of lines through the design on the star. There are horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines.
2. I believe my piece was successful in the sense that it conveys the theme, it is unique, and it is a print that you could display around christmas time as a decoration. I based my piece off of the Star of David due to the upcoming holiday. If I were to change anything I would try to make my cuts on each side of the star more even. |
